EBMX calls the X-9000 V3 the definitive power upgrade for the Ultra Bee. The controller is rated at 50 kW and has been tested to 60 kW, with 1000 A of continuous phase current and 1600 A bursts in race mode on a 500 A battery line. Custom VESC firmware with Field Oriented Control and 30 plus preloaded motor tunes cover a stock Ultra Bee as well as a full high power build, and the free app adds live tuning, OTA updates and ride mode setup. Does the Ultra Bee X9000 V3 kit keep the stock display and controls?
Yes, by default. EBMX notes that on every Ultra Bee model year the included SW102 display and thumb throttle will not work unless the bike is wired with a race harness; without one, all of the OEM controls and the stock display keep working through the plug and play harness. The controller itself still provides six customizable power levels, a street and race mode toggle, adjustable speed limiters per ride mode, regen tuning and field weakening, all set from the app over the Bluetooth module in the kit.
What is in the box with the Ultra Bee X9000 V3 kit?
The kit is 100 percent plug and play. Included are the Ultra Bee wiring harness and mount kit, an SW102T color display with its 1-2 harness, the Bluetooth module, a regen thumb throttle, and the heat sink with all of its hardware. EBMX makes a 200 to 250 A ANL fuse and/or circuit breaker on the install a condition of the 2 year warranty. The controller is IP67 rated, built on 30 Infineon 120V MOSFETs and a multilayer PCB with CNC copper busbars, and supports optional liquid cooling.
