Will it clear my motor and controller?
The Outlaw bash plate is known to fit all motors and controllers on the market as of 6/22/2026. Its slightly larger front bash plate works with both OEM and aftermarket controllers and covers the exposed phase wires against sticks, rocks and trail debris.
How do I install it?
The kit ships with both side rails, four bash plates and all required mounting bolts. Apply blue medium-strength thread locker to all hardware and torque the T20 Torx bash plate bolts to 2.6 Nm (1.92 ft-lb / 23 in-lb).
Why aluminum instead of plastic?
In Heavy Hitter's testing the aluminum design slides over rocks, logs and trail obstacles more easily than plastic because objects do not embed themselves into the surface on impact. Flexible plastic skid plates can also deflect into the motor under a hit; the Outlaw's rigid structure prevents that contact, which can otherwise damage motor housings or mounts.
How was the bash plate geometry developed?
Through years of racing events such as the Tennessee Knockout (TKO) Hard Enduro, Heavy Hitter refined the bash plate angles to reduce drag when sliding over rocks, logs and trail obstacles, so the bike glides over terrain rather than hanging up. The plates were pushed to the limit at the Tennessee Knockout Hard Enduro and held up. Heavy Hitter replaces the side rails free if they ever bend; bash plate replacements are available on request.
