We're happy to introduce the GritShift Heavy Hitter Skid plate! Your one-time solution for skid plates on your Favorite E-bikes. Featuring 7075 T6 Billet aluminum Side Supports, and replaceable billet aluminum bash plates - this has been stress analyzed to withstand over 6000 LBs of force to the bash plates.
GritShift is tired of replacing weak floppy skid plates every other week. A change needed to incur. The fatal flaw of Sur Ron and Talaria skid plates is the lack of support. Most moto-style skid plates have a support structure (frame rail) underneath the thin lightweight metals to brace and protect the skid plate from excess deformation.
This is the biggest design flaw in the Sur Ron and Talaria Skid Plates. They are self-supported, and the only thing that stops the thin weak metal from deforming is crucial components such as the motor, throttle connection, and regulator. Not ideal in any form of riding, especially for the full senders.
The GritShift R+D Team has spent months testing skid plates for the Talaria and SurRon. The most rigorous and successful test was Redbull TKO Hard Enduro where the plate came out with no issues!
Still yet, slight tweaks were made to improve the quality for the dedicated hard-enduro rider. We optimized key components to ensure angles were precise for log jumps, and rocky step-ups.
Note: When installing the Skid plate Blue Loc-tite is recommended for installation. The skid plate mounting bolts are a 2.5mm Allen head and recommended torque spec is 2.6nm. This is barely hand tight, and as long as blue Loctite is correctly used this will be removable in the future, as well as securely hold for the life of the product.
Note: Talaria Skid Plates do not currently clear the KO Motor's phase wires, A revision is in progress for an updated rail design, if your planning on running a KO Motor on your Talaria in the future, please advise us and we will ship a replacement rail once they are available.
