Why lock the steering stem on an e-moto?
Steering stem bearing slop shows up as loose forks and vague steering, and it gets worse under jumps, hard landings and aggressive trail or track riding. The stem lock clamps the steering stem so it cannot flex under heavy load, which keeps the forks tight and the steering precise. Heavy Hitter machined it for durability and designed it to take real-world impacts across street, trail and track riding.

How tight should the stem lock bolt be?
The tech sheet does not give a fixed number: torque the M10x1.25x180 bolt to the correct bearing preload for your headset. The only tool needed is an 8 mm Allen wrench, and installation is a direct bolt-on with no modifications.
