Why do aluminum sprockets bend on e-motos?

Heavy Hitter's finding is that most aftermarket aluminum sprockets bend from sheer torque on hard landings, not from hitting objects. Once a sprocket bends, the bike starts throwing chains and can damage the motor, and many riders went back to heavy OEM steel sprockets just to stop it. The 420 Super Sprocket was designed to remove that trade-off: as light as possible without giving up structural integrity, machined from a single piece of 7075-T6 aluminum with beveled edges for smooth chain engagement and a black anodized finish.

How was the 420 Super Sprocket tested?

Heavy Hitter load tested the rotational case in CAD and then validated the sprocket in real-world riding, including full-throttle landings and object strikes. It ships as the sprocket only; you reuse the original mounting hardware from the sprocket it replaces.

Does re-gearing help the stock motor and controller?

Yes, according to the product page. Running heavier wheels and tires adds load to the stock motor and controller, and re-gearing with a different tooth count reduces that load and protects long-term performance. The seven tooth counts, 48 to 60 in two-tooth steps, cover the common gearing changes on these bikes.

Which bikes take a 428 or 520 sprocket instead?

This sprocket is for 420-chain bikes only. The E Ride Pro-SR, Pro-SS 3.0 and Pro-SS 4.0, the Arctic Leopard XE Pro S and R and XF Pro, and the Talaria MX5 run the Heavy Hitter 428 Billet Aluminum Super Sprocket, covered on its own specs page. The Sur Ron Ultra Bee takes the Heavy Hitter 520 Ultra Bee Super Sprocket.
