Why move the bars to a direct mount position?
The direct mount position is standard in the motorcycle world, and Heavy Hitter built this riser to bring it to mountain-bike-fork e-motos. Sitting the bar directly over the stem improves ergonomics, front-end leverage and steering feel, especially in low-speed technical sections. The wide clamping area also increases bar stiffness. Do I need stem spacers?
Yes, or a trimmed steerer. Because the riser moves the clamp 2 in higher, the product page states that stem spacers are required, or that you trim your stem, to maintain correct headset bearing tension.
How do I install the 2" riser stem?
The kit ships with every component needed: two side riser bodies, one front riser clamp, four M6×1×25 stainless steel socket-head frame mount bolts and four M6×1×14 stainless steel socket-head clamp bolts. You need a 5 mm Allen wrench, a torque wrench and medium-strength (blue) thread locker. Torque the frame mount bolts to 8.5 Nm (6.3 ft·lb) and the clamp bolts to 8.5 Nm (6.3 ft·lb).
