Why are the center cleats 4 mm taller?
The stepped cleat layout puts the center row 4 mm above the front and rear cleats. On the trail that gives your boot something to bite into for a more natural foot feel while the outer rows keep the grip secure, and the 10 mm rearward peg position puts your foot in a more natural, controlled position under load. Heavy Hitter designed the Grapplers as a performance-focused replacement for the stock Talaria pegs, tested across multiple high-output e-motos.
What is in the box?
- 1 Talaria footpeg, right
- 1 Talaria footpeg, left
- 26 stainless steel cleats, M4 x 0.7
How do I install the pegs and torque the cleats?
The pegs are a direct bolt-on for the Talaria. The cleats thread into the peg bodies and each one is tightened to 3.0 Nm (2.2 ft·lb) with a 7 mm wrench or socket and a torque wrench, using medium-strength (blue) thread locker. The component list and torque figure are in the Heavy Hitter Talaria Grappler Billet Footpegs tech sheet (PDF).
Where do I get replacement cleats?
When the stainless cleats wear down they unscrew and swap out without replacing the peg. Heavy Hitter sells the same M4 x 0.7 cleats as the Heavy Hitter Grappler Stainless Steel Foot Peg Cleat Kit. Riders on an ETM RTR have their own version of this peg, the Heavy Hitter ETM RTR Grappler Billet Footpegs.
