It is the plain replacement for a bike that came with a non-sealed chain, without the race chain price, and the right choice when the chain gets changed often enough that an expensive one never wears out before it is replaced.

The 428 Standard is rated at 4,400 lb tensile strength, or 19.5 kN, and comes in raw steel finish. There is no seal, so it needs the regular cleaning and lube any non-sealed chain does. EK also makes it in 420 pitch, listed separately.
