Why replace the stock Talaria linkage?
The stock Talaria linkage is a known weak point in the rear suspension: excess play and noise in the OEM linkage lead to accelerated bearing wear and eventual bearing and linkage failure. What does the 4 mm top-out stop do?
At full droop, with the rear wheel off the ground, the 4 mm stop lightly rests the linkage on the swingarm so the shock cannot slam internally against its top-out. It acts like a limiting strap, protecting the shock shaft, seals and rebound control from premature damage, a feature no e-moto rear shock includes from the factory. Heavy Hitter notes it is especially important for heavier riders running 550 to 650 lb springs and for riders who send big jumps.
