Why a billet shift lock instead of flat-cut steel?
Heavy Hitter built this bracket as a lighter and stronger alternative to other flat-cut steel shift locks. Inner and outer gussets add rigidity and impact resistance without adding weight, so the aluminum bracket carries less bending risk in a crash than a flat steel plate. The design is race- and stunt-tested by Heavy Hitter riders and fits either side of the bike.
How does the Delrin slider peg protect the frame?
The peg is fully machined from Delrin, which gives a low-friction surface that glides smoothly during slides while its impact resistance keeps it intact under hard hits. It is also the designed break point: in a crash the peg gives way before the frame or the bracket, so the part that takes the damage is the peg rather than the bike. The peg mounts on the M8x20 cap screw with the peg washer.

How do I install the shift lock?
It is a direct bolt-on for the right or left side. You need a 6 mm Allen wrench, a 13 mm wrench or socket, a torque wrench and medium-strength (blue) thread locker. The two M8x30 flange bolts that mount the arm and the M8x20 cap screw that carries the peg all torque to 18 Nm (13 ft·lb). The exploded view is in the assembly guide (PDF).
