What else does the XTA-60 Core upgrade need?
EBMX is explicit that you will need an upgraded battery and controller to use this motor. On the Talaria Sting MX5 the EBMX XTA-60 Talaria Sting MX5 Gearbox Adapter Kit is required as well; EBMX flags the adapter as required for the MX5 only. For gearing, EBMX recommends a 48T rear sprocket on 18 in wheels and a 42T sprocket on 16 in wheels.
Is the XTA-60 the same motor as the XLB-60?
No. EBMX renamed this Talaria motor from XLB-60 to XTA-60 and updated its specifications on 5/30/25 to reflect the motor as built: a 55 mm stator and 115 KV wind, against the 64 mm stator and 87 KV of the Sur Ron and E Ride oriented XLB-60 Core.
