Over-torqued titanium bolts can snap.

Four bolts hold the LBX motor to the frame, and the stock steel ones corrode and leave rust where they meet the motor. Swapping them for titanium removes the rust problem and saves weight at the motor.

Titanium Surron machines the set from certified Grade 5 (6AL-4V) titanium with rolled threads, which the maker rates for greater fatigue strength than cut threads. Titanium Surron puts the material at the same strength as steel at 45% of the weight and the bolts at 45% lighter than OEM. The anodized or PVD coating is offered in Blue, Green, Purple, Rainbow, Gold, Burnt Blue, Black and Silver (raw).

Titanium Surron suggests a small amount of anti-seize or a titanium-compatible thread compound on the threads if you want easier removal later. Torque each bolt to the factory value and stop there.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0511/3964/1496/files/titanium-motor-bolts-surron-lbs-lbx-segway-x160-x260-563598.jpg?v=1791825976
