The pins are chromized for exceptional surface hardness and maximum wear resistance, and they are larger diameter alloy carbon steel, matched to thicker shot-peened plates for increased tensile strength and fatigue resistance.

Extended bushings and solid rollers add durability, and the inner links are beveled to improve sprocket engagement even in the worst off-road conditions. Regina calls it the ultimate off-road chain, developed to withstand the severe stresses of off-road riding while staying lightweight.

Regina's spec table lists the 428 RX3 at 23,000 N, or 5,170 lbs, average tensile strength, with 1.8 mm plates, an 18.8 mm pin length and 1.03 kg per 100 links. There is no seal, so it needs the regular cleaning and lube any non-sealed chain does.
