TECH tested and proved the 34 mm piston in trials motorcycles first, and here it replaces the ER30's 30 mm piston for 28% more piston area and a wider-diameter shim stack, all inside the same external size as the ER30. TECH says the larger piston brings less shock fade during long, aggressive rides, better high-speed control over repeated impacts, improved traction and rear-end stability, and better control through the end of the stroke.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shock gets the same low-friction combination as the E39 Racing fork. Kashima Coat on the CNC 7075 aluminum body cuts friction by about 13% and DLC on the piston shaft by about 35%, and both improve wear resistance so the shock stays smooth over time. A piggyback reservoir handles temperature control, and an internal floating piston with double seals keeps performance consistent.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAdjustment covers 0 to 20 mm of preload, 24 clicks of rebound and 20 clicks of compression. The CTS Compression Tuning System adds swappable valves: orange mid compression comes fitted, with optional gold for light compression on smoother terrain and green for firm compression and aggressive riding. To swap one, remove the shock, release the reservoir pressure and change the valve, with no specialist tools needed.
